Just For 12 yr. old Carlos...
Bring the joy inside..
Just for 12-year-old Carlos - his place, his healing, his escape. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare and aggressive bone cancer, Carlos has faced challenges no child should ever have to endure. The freedom to run outside, play without limits, and simply be a kid has been taken from him. But while cancer has changed his world, it hasn’t dimmed his spirit.
Battling Osteosarcoma at just 12 years old, Carlos needed more than a room...

We knew his space had to be more than just a room - it needed to be a refuge, a world of possibility where his imagination could thrive. A place where adventure still exists, where he can dream beyond hospital visits and treatments, and where comfort meets creativity. Every detail was chosen to inspire joy, from cozy books that invite storytelling to elements that spark curiosity and play. More than a makeover, this was about restoring a sense of childhood, giving Carlos a space that reminds him he’s still a kid - full of wonder, strength, and endless possibility.

Carlos deserves a space filled with joy, strength, and hope - a sanctuary where he can dream, heal, and simply be a kid despite osteosarcoma’s challenges.

From Yankee decals to fine pinstripes, Carlos’s room is more than just aesthetics - it’s a space designed to bring him comfort, joy, and a sense of ownership over his world. His favorite colors surround him, wrapping the walls in familiarity, while his bed proudly showcases the image of his hero, Aaron Judge. A soft yet durable rug cushions his steps, blackout curtains offer restful sleep, and carefully placed shelves and a dresser bring order to his cherished belongings.

Every detail was chosen with intention, answering his unspoken call for a space that feels truly his own - a room that reassures him that, despite cancer’s challenges, his childhood is not lost, his dreams still have a place to grow, and his sanctuary is finally created. As his mother watches him settle into his new space, finding comfort, calm, and a sense of belonging, she sees more than just a room - she sees healing. Watching Carlos seek refuge in a space that brings him joy, where he feels safe and at peace, becomes its own kind of medicine - not just for him, but for her as well. In this room, there is more than design; there is love, relief, and the quiet reassurance that, even in the hardest moments, home can still be a place of hope.
Carlos can now thrive and grow in his new space, and do what kids simply love to do.

Hanging drapes, mounting TVs, assembling furniture - every task was done with love, every detail placed with purpose. We came together, hands and hearts aligned, to ensure that Carlos and his mom had a beautiful space just in time for the holidays. This transformation was more than a makeover; it was a message - a reminder that they are seen, supported, and never alone in this journey. Their smiles were the greatest gift, a reflection of the warmth, hope, and healing that now fills their space. And in those smiles, we found our own reason to keep creating, to keep showing up, to keep turning houses into sanctuaries of love. We are truly blessed to have a team of selfless, compassionate souls who make this work possible - because healing isn’t just in medicine, it’s in the spaces we create, the love we give, and the moments of joy we restore.
