A Place for Seth
And Lisa...
Breast cancer didn’t just challenge Lisa’s health - it transformed every part of her life. In the face of uncertainty, she made the difficult but necessary decision to move in with her mother, seeking the support she needed while enduring the grueling battle of treatment. So she packed up into one room with her Six year old son.
Lisa and her 6-year-old son, Seth, shared her mother’s spare room - a space that, despite the love surrounding her, felt overwhelmingly heavy.

The room, dim and confined, became a reflection of her struggle, deepening her emotional exhaustion. It wasn’t just a place to rest; it became a reminder of the pain, the fatigue, and the weight of the fight she was facing. Seth, full of youthful energy and dreams, didn’t even have a desk of his own - a small but significant absence in a home that lacked a sense of balance.

We brought in Lisa’s favorite colors- warm browns, soft neutrals, and vibrant touches that reflect her personality. ‘When Love House came into my life, I knew it was a prayer answered’.

We knew Lisa needed more than just a room refresh; she needed a space that would uplift her spirit, nurture her healing, and remind her that she was not just surviving - she was reclaiming her life. With her love for deep browns, camel tones, and warm organic hues, we designed a space that felt grounded, embracing, and restorative. The existing layout felt restrictive, so we reimagined it, creating flow and function. Her oversized bed, which blocked the light from entering the room, was repositioned to open up the space, allowing natural light to pour in.

To tie the entire room together, we introduced a whispering organic wallpaper that breathed new life into the walls, adding softness and depth. The windows, once bare and uninviting, were adorned with gorgeous blackout panels that framed the space with elegance and warmth. Lisa’s bed became a true retreat, layered with sumptuous velvet bedding, creating a cocoon of comfort. To maximize every precious inch, we installed sleek wall sconces, providing soft, ambient lighting without sacrificing table space. Every detail was chosen not just for aesthetics, but for purpose - designed to remind Lisa that she is held, supported, and worthy of a space that reflects her strength and resilience.
This room is more than a space - it’s a testament to Lisa’s strength, a reflection of her journey, and a sanctuary where healing, hope, and love come together - for her and for Seth, who now has a place to dream, grow, and thrive.

This was more than a makeover; it was a transformation of spirit. A room that once felt like a place of struggle now stands as a sanctuary of peace, comfort, and hope. As Lisa continues her journey forward, this space will serve as a quiet but powerful reminder: she is not alone, she is loved, and she is deserving of beauty in every corner of her life.
